This wall mirror reflects the style of my furniture designs a art and craft, offering both and functional value. |
All material used is local Sheoak(Allocasuarina fraseriana) selected for its excellent steam bending qualities and Jarrah (Eucalyptus marginata), but even this timber needs experimentation. |
To made 5 ribs, it took me 30 experiments and a pair of strong hands to bend the wood. The frame of the mirror is made out of Jarrah . Welding wire covers the joints of the ribs, and compliments the shine of chromed pipe. This wall mirror needs to hang in a large room or hall, as its complexity means all view and angles are interesting. |
