'Vessel on Long Legs' by Lilach Mileikowski
Crowded House Design opened on the 1st May 1989, and was the brainchild of Margaret Walker and Jan Atyeo. Their original idea was to create a retail gallery specialising in contemporary Australian artwork, furniture, glass & ceramics, that avoided the pretentiousness sometimes associated with fine art galleries.
Jan and Margaret sold the business to long-term friends Iain McKinnon and James Wright in 2005. Iain and James were pleased to have been given the opportunity to continue the tradition of offering an eclectic range of fine artworks, showcasing the work of some of Australia's most creative and talented artists.
Our vision is to support local artists, and to offer work that is quirky, stylish, individual and affordable. We enjoy talking to customers about each artist's individual technique, and helping them understand the enormous amount of time and creative energy that is required to produce such beautiful art.
